In memory of Professor Joy Delhanty
We are very sad to learn the news of the passing of Professor Joy Delhanty. Joy was Darren’s PhD supervisor from 1988 to 1992 in the Galton lab in University College London. She led his early work of the first reports of cytogenetic sexing and of mosaicism in human embryos. A world leading and “original” cytogeneticist she described the first human triploid (now known to be one of the leading causes of first trimester pregnancy loss) and did seminar work on cancer cytogenetics.

In the following, she discusses her career (interviewed by Peter Harper) and Darren gets a kind mention.
