Outstanding success in the REF
The REF (research excellence framework) results are out, and Darren’s lab played a significant part in the University of Kent Biosciences submission. Contributing the maximum of 5 papers Darren also acted as REF coordinator, co-authoring the submission document itself and managing the process by which the outputs (research papers) were chosen.
Most significantly however Darren contributed one of three cases on research impact (how the research affects society). Again coordinating the process and submitting a cases entitled "Novel chromosome screening tools in assisted reproduction technology (ART) enhance human fertility treatment and animal breeding regimes for food production” - the Bioscience submission received a total mark of 3.83 out of 4.
THIS WAS SECOND HIGHEST IN THE COUNTRY (NARROWLY BEHIND ONLY THE UNIVERSITY OF LEICESTER)
